  1. What does "Build My System" do?
    The "Build My System" feature on the site steps you through the process of building an InGrid system that is custom tailored to your home based on the size and layout of your home and your lifestyle needs.

  2. After my order has been placed, how long does it take to ship?
    Orders received before 2PM Eastern Time will be shipped the same day. The actual transit time depends on which shipping option you select during checkout.

  3. Why is a broadband router required to install an InGrid system?
    InGrid Digital Home Protection connects to your broadband connection and a router allows you to share your broadband connection between multiple PCs and your InGrid security system. If you have an existing wired or wireless router it should work fine.

  4. Why do I have to order a Kit to complete my order?
    InGrid has made the ordering process of a new system easier by bundling the core set of components necessary to install your system into kits. To see the contents of the kits, click here.

  5. When do my monthly recurring service charges begin?
    Your monthly service charges will begin thirty (30) days after placing your order. The first thirty days from the date you place your order are complimentary to allow you time to install your system and practice using the security features of your system.

  6. How do I activate my system once I receive it?
    When you receive your InGrid system it is important that your follow the installation instructions closely. Your kit contains a User Manual and a Quick Setup Guide which will walk you through your installation step-by-step. The specific instructions for activating your InGrid system are contained in your Quick Setup Guide.

  7. Do I need any equipment in addition to what's included in the Basic or Home kit to install my InGrid system?
    You will need a router to install your InGrid system. Both the Basic and Home kits contain the core components that are needed to install your InGrid system. Many customers will benefit from adding other components to their order. For instance many customers prefer to add additional Handsets or Consoles to their system. Customers with homes in excess of 3,000 square feet must have an additional Grid Extender in order to ensure proper system coverage. To determine the optimal set of components we recommend that you use the "Build My System" functionality to configure a system that is customized to your specific needs.

  8. Will my current broadband router work with my InGrid system?
    The InGrid system is compatible with most Broadband routers on the market today.

  9. Do you offer professional installation service?
    InGrid's Digital Home Protection system is designed as a self-install solution. An InGrid system for the average home should take approximately 90 minutes to install from start to finish.

  10. Do I need to have a normal (landline) phone line?
    The InGrid system is designed to utilize an analog phone line in addition to a Broadband connection for back-up connectivity to the Monitoring Center. The system will still function however you will receive a Trouble Alert that the system has "no phone line".

  11. Does the InGrid system work with VoIP?
    Your InGrid system works seamlessly with "Voice over IP" phone service (also called VoIP or Digital Phone Service by some providers).

  13. What do I do if I have problems with installation of my system?
    Installation support is available from a variety of sources including, the InGrid Quick Setup Guide, the InGrid User Manual and the InGrid website. Still need help? InGrid Customer Support is available 24/7 at 1-877-INGRID7 (1-877-464-7437).

  14. How do I determine if I need to get a local permit for my system?
    During the order fulfillment process of your InGrid system we will notify you via email if our records indicate that your municipality requires an alarm permit. Local ordinances change frequently and it is recommended that you check with your local municipality from time to time after your initial activation to determine whether an alarm permit requirements have changed.

  15. Will my current cordless phones work with InGrid's system?
    Yes, your existing cordless (and corded) phones will work with your InGrid security system. However, if you purchase additional InGrid handsets you extend your control of your security system to additional rooms or areas of your home.
